WebWatch question

Greetings, all! After reviewing last fall's postings on the subject of
link checkers, I decided to try WebWatch. What I want to do is fairly
modest: I have an ever-growing hotlist and want to check the currency
of the links. Basic info: I'm using Netscape 3.0 on an Ethernet network,
running from an NPC 486 (if this matters).
I downloaded a demonstration copy of version 1.1 -- version 2 is available,
but not as a demo. After submitting my hotlist to WebWatch, it checked
and reported on the first 11 sites, then ran through the rest of the
list without checking. I can't offhand determine anything about the
12th site -- or my coding -- that's unusual. So, I wrote to WebWatch
tech support asking what might be the matter. This was the reply:
"Looks like it can't make the connection.
Are you behind a firewall? Is it configured?
Is your tcp/ip stack (winsock.dll) correct?"
We're not behind a firewall. I can't imagine what would be wrong with
my tcp/ip stack, since every other network function works for me. And
I don't know what "it" is supposed to be configured. I replied, asking
for clarification on these points, and have gotten silence back. So I'm
writing to you all for help.
I know this is shareware, and don't expect hours of consultation. And
maybe I'm just being clueless. But I'm certainly not going to purchase
the product unless I can get the demo to work!
Oh yes -- if the software "can't make the connection," why wouldn't I
have gotten a time-out message?
Thanks very much for any help you can provide.
