FULL-TIME POSITION

Position:
Applications Programmer/Webmaster in the Information Systems Office
serving both The Frick Collection and Frick Art Reference Library

Where:
Frick Art Reference Library, 10 East 71st Street, New York, NY 10021

When:
Applications will be considered until the position is filled.

Duties:
Responsible for developing databases and spreadsheets. Responsible for
mapping databases and transporting data across systems, linking database
retrieval through the website. Will provide technical knowledge and
communications expertise to support the ongoing development of both an
internal and external Website. Responsible for maintenance and (some
design) of Web space for various departments of The Frick Collection and
Frick Art Reference Library. Responsible for some (limited) training of
staff in software applications. Responsible for troubleshooting:
answering questions about software applications for staff. 
	
Qualifications:
Requires in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Products including macros and
templates, for: Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point.  Experience
with developing and maintaining databases (the Frick Art Reference
Library uses the Unix-based Cuadra Star for a variety of applications.)
Must be familiar with scanning, digital imaging. Must be familiar with
library online catalogs (the Frick Art Reference Library uses the
Innovative Interfaces, Inc. opac.)  In building it's website The Frick
Collection currently uses a Umax Powerlook 2000 scanner, NetObjects
Fusion, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, PageMaker, Omni Page Pro OCR
software. To qualify, you must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 2
years'experience with Internet information services, knowledge of HTML,
PERL, CGI scripts and other applicable languages. The ability to
problem-solve using programming tools along with excellent management,
analytical and writing skills.  Strong verbal communication skills are
essential. Editorial and/or desktop design experience preferred.

Salary:
40K, liberal benefits include 2 wks vacation the first year (5 wks after
1 year), subsidized lunch, Transit Check, pension plan, medical/dental,
etc.

Details:
