networking software

Hi all,
I've got a "techy" question that I hope someone may be able to help me
out with.  Essentially we are having difficulty installing so called
"networkable" software packages on our server (Novell 3.12).  Many times
we are forced to "tweak" each workstation on our network by installing
needed  DLL files and changing INI's on each workstation..

Any thoughts on how to avoid this leg work aside from flogging those
vendors who say that their software is networkable?.
