Network monitoring software

Hello

I am looking for some network monitoring software which would allow me to
pinpoint bad network cards, etc... I've had a lot of packetloss and
network problems over the past couple months, which I am getting very sick
of.

OS does not really matter as I have access to NT4, Win95, SunOS, BSDI,
Linux, etc...

Any suggestions?
