Link checkers

My first thought would be trying the ip address to your server with :80
at the end of it, if the machine your site is running from is the only
web site on that machine otherwise your pages may be set to another port
number..  Second thought, is there a proxy setting in the link checker
that needs setting (probably not).  A little more information such as
the exact error message wuld be helpful.
