Position Description: Cataloger, tenure track, faculty
position. Primary duties include cataloging non-book, serials
& monograph materials. All librarians at BSU have one or
more areas of collection development responsibilities, and
may be included in a regular reference desk schedule. 

Required qualifications: MLS from an ALA-Accredited
program, demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the
principles and processes of bibliographic control, the ability
to function collegially and with initiative in a team
environment. Knowledge of MARC formats and national
cataloging standards, LC Classification, DDC and LCSH
required.

Preferred Qualifications: Two years experience in a
professional cataloging position in an academic library.

Albertsons Library uses the Geac ADVANCE System for the
online catalog, acquisitions, circulation, and serials
subsystems; and is a member of the Western Library
Network bibliographic utility. The cataloging department
consists of two professional librarians, 5 classified staff
positions (including the classified staff supervisor) and several
temporary/work study positions.

Starting Date: September 1, 1997. Minimum salary: $29,000,
commensurate with experience. Excellent State benefits.
