Lyrics site on the web

Dear Susie et al.,

You queried:

> there a site that searches by title?

The most famous is The Lyrics Page at University of Wisconsin-Parkside:

	http://archive.uwp.edu/pub/music/lyrics/

There is a search engine to search full text or artist/title. The songs
are mostly from the rock era, with a bias toward more recent artist, so
it's not so good for "traditional" pop like Cole Porter or Irving
Berlin.

This site is often slow and difficult to access, so be patient. Also, it
may not be around much longer. I just visited and read the following
statement, in ominously large black letters: "This site may have to be
taken down soon. We have been contacted by music industry lawyers
regarding copyright law."

If your patron can access Usenet, there is a newsgroup called
alt.music.lyrics. A DejaNews search might prove serendipitous:

> Thank you.

You're very welcome. 8-{)>
