The Texas Youth Commission Office of Prevention has just published the
first and largest on-line worldwide directory of programs, resources,
references and research on the prevention of youth problems and the
promotion of
nurturing children. It's called The Prevention Yellow Pages, and it's
located at

http://www.tyc.state.tx.us/prevention/40001ref.html

We hope to update and improve this resource on a daily basis and welcome
suggestions and information from librarians, educators, researchers,
specialists in prevention and child development, parents, and young
adults.

The Prevention Yellow Pages offers over 1,000 links to the best
available prevention material, including books, forthcoming books,
journal articles, research reports, program descriptions, government
documents, dissertations, on-line resources, web sites, streaming
multimedia, etc.; and provides, for the first time, a five-star ranking
system to highlight effective prevention programs.

This outstanding resource establishes a new standard of excellence in
the field of library and information science for the collection and
dissemination of practical knowledge, not only for the topic of
prevention, but for any topic.

I would like to offer this new on-line resource for your review for
possible mention in your web site. Thank you for your consideration!
