Learn More About Java and How to Prepare For Java
sponsored by LITA's Emerging Technologies Interest Group
(ETIG) and co-sponsored by LITA's Internet Resources Interest Group

location, OR check LITA's NYC Conference Web site
Library administrators, library automation coordinators, system
administrators, and "techies" curious about the World Wide Web programming
language Java will all be interested in this program at ALA in New York.
"Java and Beyond" will feature the following experts and product developers:
* Rinaldo Di Giorgio, Systems Engineer, Sun Microsystems
* Gary Ross, Distribution Systems Manager, Information Access Company
* Thomas Hickey, Chief Scientist, OCLC, Inc.
* Paul Jones, Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities,
Univ. of Virginia. (Paul Jones is co-author of "The Web Server Book"
(Ventana 1995).
The program will first provide general information about Java, its
nature, and its significance, and will be of interest to librarians in a
broad range of roles within their libraries. After a short break, there
will be a technical presentation the panel of experts.
