Company Profile

Argus specializes in strategy consulting and information architecture 
design for complex Web sites.  Founded in 1991, Argus has helped create 
Web sites for prestigious clients such as Barron's Magazine, Borders 
Books & Music, Consumers Power, the Library of Michigan, the SIGGRAPH 
conferences, UMI, and the University of Michigan.  Argus developed and 
manages the Argus Clearinghouse, a popular Internet research library.

The principals of Argus, Louis Rosenfeld and Peter Morville, have 
master's degrees from the University of Michigan's School of Information 
and Library Studies.  They have written extensively regarding Web site 
design and Internet information retrieval and present on these topics at 
national professional conferences.


Position Description 

We are seeking a creative, team-oriented, entrepreneurial individual with
a background in information and library science. 

As an information architecture consultant, this individual must 
understand the principles of information organization and indexing, 
information management, and user interface design.  Experience developing 
complex, distributed Internet-based information systems is desired.

As a project manager, this individual should have excellent 
communication, organization, and management skills and should be 
comfortable maintaining relationships with clients, co-workers, and 
subcontractors.  Experience managing relationships in an 
interdisciplinary environment is desired but not required.  We are 
willing to train the right person.

of innovative information services such as the Argus Clearinghouse, 
speaking at professional conferences, and writing articles and books.

Requirements

* Masters in Information and Library Studies (or in progress).
* Experience designing and developing Web sites.
* Experience managing people and projects (desired but not required).
