The machine that hosts this discussion will be down part of this weekend 
in order to install an uninterruptable power supply. Thus this temporary, 
planned inconvenience will result in the prevention of unplanned, longer 
inconveniences in the future. If everything goes well, the machine will 
be down from 6 p.m. Friday, 20 December until 5 p.m. Saturday, Pacific 
Time. During this time the Web site for this discussion will also be 
inaccessible (the Digital Library SunSITE). We regret any inconvenience
