Have you noticed how many "Network Librarian" jobs have been advertised 
lately? And how many of them come around again, marked "search extended"?

My experience has been that most librarians are grossly underpaid for their 
education and skill, especially in rural public libraries and private 
colleges.

For this reason, I found the whole discussion of "should we be paid more for
creating a web page" quite surprizing.
