Trinity College Library

The SystemsLibrarian/Manager of Library Systems is responsible for 
planning, implementing, and supporting the automated systems and 
information technology services of Trinity College Library.  The 
position entails both leadership and service.  The Librarian/Manager 
reports to the College Librarian, is a member of the Library's senior 
administrative group, and is its principal liaison with the Trinity
College Computing Center and the CTW Library consortium systems
administration.  The Librarian/Manager serves as a resource person
to all library departments and is expected to work closely with
the professional staff to achieve the goals of the respective
departments.

Trinity College Library operates a Sirsi Unicorn system in a
consortium with Connecticut College and Wesleyan University.  Trinity
College has a fully integrated campus network supporting Windows 95/NT,
Unix, and Macintosh applications.

Candidates should have strong knowledge of, and a minimum of three
years experience with, operating an integrated library management
or other complex administrative system.  Demonstrated background
in MARC-based bibliographic databases desired.  Working knowledge of
networking, including Appletalk, TCP/IP, Windows NT; client-server
architecture, Internet services, and WWW design; familiarity with 
several operating environments including Macintosh and DOS/Windows
desktop systems; UNIX; experience with file server administration.

Candidates seeking appointment as Systems Librarian will hold an
ALA-accredited MLS; other candidates should have a Masters degree 
in a field consistent with the responsibility of the position.

This full-time position is available immediately.  Salary is
competitive depending upon experience and qualifications: range
