Melinda,

I was the de facto webmaster in the beginning for all the reasons which 
you've mentioned as to why it may be a *good* thing to have such a 
function linked to "the library".  It was just a natural extension of my 
whole role here.

However, this year I just couldn't continue because I would have to have 
been seconded from my current position to work in that capacity.  hence 
the University hired an external consultant to manage the project.  
Obviously I work very closely with that person.
