I quite agree that magnetic formats are perishable and that at the moment
we lack the stuctures to cope with presevation of such media in the long
term.

My main concern however is that paper as a medium loses too much
information to be used as a preservation medium for some documents as it
cannot copy many of the "documents" on the net in an inlelligable way.
Many of course it can and then it makes sense to use paper.

We have to solve the archiving problem of digital material.  Paper copies
are not enough.
