I think I'm catching the tail end of this thread, but I have to ask, what is
a computer "scientist"? I have heard of computer programers, computer
specialists, computer technician, etc..., but never computer scientist...
As for making things easy to use, I think most software being developed is
fairly easy to use. The biggest problem I have found is, computer
programmers are not thinking about library/network use, they are thinking
about John Doe using thier software on John Doe's computer. And not John Doe
using thier software on the libraries computer, where the library will want
to restrict access to the guts of the computer to keep John Hacker from
screwing things up.
The computer programmer needs to interact with the end-user as well as the
system administrators of library/network systems.
