Whatever
your passion is, from library outreach to instruction to website development
to international collaborations, you can find inspirations, ideas and examples
at the ALA Annual Poster Sessions. If you’re going to Anaheim for the Annual
Conference, be sure to check out the Poster Sessions on the exhibit floor of
the Anaheim Convention Center.

There
are 6 poster session times (11:00-12:30; 1:00-2:30; and 3:00-4:30 both Saturday
and Sunday), with each session focused on a particular theme (for example, the
11-12:30 Saturday session is themed “The Collectors”).  Each poster
session features 20 poster presentations, and you can visit a poster at any
time during the 1 ½ hour time slot. Posters may feature a description of an
innovative library program; an analysis of a practical problem-solving effort;
or a report of a research study.

For
the full list of all 120 posters, view the poster session titles and abstracts
at http://www.lib.jmu.edu/org/ala/abstracts/.

To
search the poster sessions for particular topics of interest, use the ALA
Conference Scheduler at http://ala12.scheduler.ala.org/.
All the individual poster presentations are included in the Scheduler this
year. If desired, you can limit your search to just poster sessions by choosing
to “Browse Sessions,” then limit by Meeting Type to Poster Sessions.

If
you prefer to look at a printed guide, be sure to pick up the Poster Sessions
Abstracts Booklet, available in the Poster Session area on the exhibit floor.
Poster titles are also listed in the Annual Conference Program.

Make
time for a visit to the poster sessions on the exhibit floor of the Convention
Center – you’ll find it’s more than worth your time!
