The University of Nevada, Reno's Knowledge Center seeks a dynamic individual for the new position of Knowledge Access & Discovery Librarian. This is a tenure-track faculty position. The Knowledge Access and Discovery Librarian will provide cohesive vision in designing, implementing, and assessing metadata-reliant processes and other knowledge discovery strategies for enabling intellectual access to the research resources in all formats of the UNR Libraries. The KAD Librarian will help us optimize, extend, and integrate the various tools we have at the UNR Libraries into a seamless discovery experience for our users. Duties include: spearhead the development of knowledge access strategies to expose the libraries' rich collections to library users; collaborate with library staff and users to design, develop, and implement seamless information access services around user workflows, leveraging existing library discovery tools (which include the library online catalog, next-generation faceted discovery tools, e-journal/e-book portals, and link resolver) and relevant technologies; lead library initiatives and projects that have a knowledge access emphasis to our users. The position reports to the Director of Technical Services and is a member of Knowledge Access Management Services.

Minimum Qualifications:
*A Master's degree from an ALA-accredited Library/Information Science Program
*Two years of experience working in an academic/research library
*Knowledge of metadata standards such as MARC, RDA, and Dublin Core
*Knowledge (through experience or coursework) of current models, practices, and tools used by academic libraries for the access and discoverability of e-resources
*Experience managing cataloging and/or metadata processes in an academic/research library
*Evidence of innovative, results-oriented approaches to processes and services development
*Ability to meet requirements for tenure and promotion

Experience with Innovative Interfaces, Inc.'s Millennium system and experience managing projects are desirable.

Salary range: $56,733-$72,007, DOE. TIAA/CREF and other retirement options; 24 days vacation annually; generous sick leave policy; tuition benefits for self and family; no state income tax or FICA.
