[Web4lib] Job Posting: Library Web and Applications Developer

The University of North Carolina Wilmington, Randall Library, is seeking a Library Web and Applications Developer  to assist in the research, development, customization, integration, and support of the various web and database-driven computing services provided by the library, including software and hardware.

This position is 32 hours per week with benefits.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must demonstrate an understanding of related IT concepts including XHTML and other Internet/Web standards and web applications/programming using broad technologies (e.g.Perl, PHP, ASP, Javascript, MAJAX, AJAX, CSS, etc.).

Must demonstrate an understanding of and abilities with Web content management systems and frameworks (e.g. Drupal, .Net Framework, SharePoint) or comparable programs.

Must demonstrate a familiarity with library operations and/or knowledge of automated library systems, standards and technologies.

Must demonstrate the ability to communicate complex concepts, ideas and processes to individuals on various levels of understanding.

Must demonstrate abilities with Microsoft programs, specifically Access (or comparable programs.)

Must demonstrate the ability to work closely with other staff to ensure accurate and up-to-date contents.

Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
