*Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association* is excited to be celebrating
our 30th Anniversary in Washington D.C.!!!!! We have put together a number
of events that are educational, engaging and a lot of fun. We hope you'll
join us for each and every one! There are a few  spots left and members of
APALA will receive priority so consider becoming a member (only costs $20)!

Events include:
Smithsonian Folklife Festival: Asian Pacific American Connections. (Friday,
June 25, 2010 @ 10am)
This is a behind-the-scenes tour led by Jade Alburo, Librarian for Southeast
Asian Studies at UCLA. Limited to 50 guests.

Library of Congress Tour (Friday, June 25, 2010, tentatively scheduled at
3:30pm)
This tour will focus on the library's Asian American Pacific Islander
Collections. A reception will follow in the Asian Reading Room Foyer.
 Limited to 50 guests.

White House Tour (Saturday, June 26, 2010, 8:30 - 10:30 am ) Limited to 50
guests.

National Archives Tour (Saturday, June 26, 2010, 3:00 - 4:00 pm)
Tour the gallery and the vault with an emphasis on the archive's Asian
Pacific American collection.  Limited to 30 guests.

AND FOR THE GRAND FINALE!!!!  30th Anniversary Dinner Gala at China Garden
(Sunday, June 27, 2010, 6:30 - 9:30pm )  Features a talk by Dr. Franklin
Odo, a recently retired director of the APA Program at the Smithsonian, live
performances by Lao American Womens Association dancers and the Bollywood
Singing Duo and a delicious 6 course Chinese dinner among other exciting
programs.
