[Web4lib] delicious as site depository & getting stats

I couldn't find a good way to get around this, so I'd love to hear if anyone else did.

Instead, we use Delicious to manage our links, but actually embed them into our site using the Linkroll feature to create the code (http://delicious.com/help/linkrolls). I love that I update Delicious and not have to touch my site. It works pretty well and is very easy to update, even with our somewhat clunky CMS (Mambo), and I'm not making my patrons jump through too many hoops to find the resources they want. You seem to have far more links than we do, though, so this may not solve your problem.

Good luck!
Rachael

>Although not exactly a "best of breed" situation, you could link to your del.icio.us links from another link provider that does track statistics, like something such as http://bit.ly. You give it a link, it converts it to a shorter URL (the main purpose of the site), but it also gives you statistics on hits to said URL.

>This sounds like there should be an easy answer, but I've searched delicious help and all the other tools that they link to and nothing seems to fit what I'm looking for. Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe I'm just smokin' crack and it can't be done. Regardless, I'm now turning to the collective brain of web4lib (where I generally lurk but gain immeasurable knowledge by doing so).

>What I need to do is collect stats for how many times our delicious bookmarks are accessed. I don't need a tag breakdown; I'm just looking for how often people are going to anything under the http://delicious.com/clearwaterlib umbrella. I know that we're not the only library using delicious as their internet resources depository and was wondering if someone had come up with a way to access that info.
