[Web4lib] Library developed database tutorials

Hello all,

It's been quite some time since I've actually managed library web content
for an academic library, and I'm wondering if libraries are developing their
own online tutorials for databases to serve students these days.

We have some fairly unique resources, but I don't think the tutorials that
the librarians are spending HUGE amounts of time creating (in Camtasia,
Captivate, PPT or WHATEVER) are being used (web stats kind of bear this
out). The "homegrown" tutorials are only for resources that don't have
vendor created tutorials, but we're still talking about 30 or so databases -
a big chunk of time.

I want to tell the librarians that their time would be better spent on
something else, but before I say something so final, I want to check this
out with other libraries.

Thanks for your thoughts.
