You're absolutely right, Adobe should have a better solution.  For what it's worth though, after we did that the first time, our computers "remembered" that setting and we didn't have to do it again.  Might be different on public computers that are locked down however.

Personally I think the Acrobat and Reader are serious pieces of bloatware.  At home I the free alternatives (like FoxIt Reader).
