As a recent transplant to the MAC environment, I am disappointed that Chrome is not yet available for the MAC. I have wait until I get home to download the browser.

Cheers

Doug

Following Bill Drew's post (thanks, Bill!), here are a few of my thoughts and experiences.

The ability to import usernames and passwords from Firefox is touted. In the password manager, it appears to have been successful. In practice, the usernames are not mapping into the boxes, though, and must be saved anew. Whether or not saving usernames in browsers is a safe computing practice is an entirely separate issue.

Bookmark import works well. RSS imports, however, fail, since Chrome does not (yet?) provide RSS reading capabilities.

Display of my library's main page <http://library.caltech.edu/> is clean and quick. Interestingly, the space below the designed size shows white, rather than continuing the border color as Firefox and SeaMonkey.

Visiting Dana Roth's Chemistry page <http://library.caltech.edu/collections/chemistry.htm> is very instructive. Chrome loads it instantly. Other browsers, if it isn't cached, have visible lag.

I truly miss my type-ahead find function in both Firefox and SeaMonkey.
