Systems Librarian
Woodbury University Library, Burbank, California

A full-time faculty position reporting to the Director of Library Services, the Systems Librarian holds a leadership role in the planning, development, and management of the Library's technological infrastructure, electronic resources, and web presence in support of learning, teaching, and research.

Responsibilities:  Shared responsibilities within a team environment include instruction in credit-bearing Information Literacy courses, reference, collection development, and outreach to faculty and students in assigned areas.  As a member of the faculty, the systems Librarian is also expected to participate in university service appropriate to faculty and to engage in appropriate scholarly and professional activities.

Required Qualifications:  An ALA accredited MLS, or equivalent degree; and three years of professional library experience, preferably in an academic library.  Experience with the administration of integrated library systems; knowledge of web design and usability principles; demonstrated ability to develop valid web pages.  Commitment to the promotion of a culture of outstanding public service in a learner-centered environment; strong analytical and problem solving skills; excellent communication and supervisory skills.  Interest in evolving information technologies, particularly as applied to discover and access tools, and integrated library systems.  Demonstrated ability to meet university requirements for faculty contract renewal and promotion through excellence in librarianship, professional and scholarly activity, and university service.

Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of SIRSI integrated library system; liaison experience with database vendors; cataloging experience; experience in teaching credit-bearing courses; collection development experience or background in business, architecture, graphic design, or physical sciences; and experience in development and maintenance of digital repository systems.

Salary:  Faculty rank and salary is commensurate with academic preparation and professional experience based on a 12-month appointment.
