FYI: There are hundreds of real life librarians and library-loving
volunteers working in Second Life. If you haven't had a chance to check out
SL yet, the best place to start is at the library where you will be warmly
welcomed and have all your questions answered. (Just like real life!)

More information: http://infoisland.org/ or google "Second Life Library" to
learn more.

Lloyd, Leslie, and others,

This is not unusual ... In my own experience, I have found many librarians
and a handful of archivists who have just such multiple existences ...

Librarians, in particular, have tended to be at the forefront of adopting
new technologies ... Not the profession, necessarily, but individuals
within.

Best,

Dennis
