PINES System Administrator

The Georgia Public Library Service seeks a System Administrator for the
PINES Program and Evergreen Project. This position is highly skilled,
advanced level requiring complex technical and professional work for the
operations of the integrated library system (Evergreen ILS) associated
with the Public Information Network for Electronic Services (PINES), a
consortium of 275 libraries operating on a central server. The System
Administrator provides leadership for the maintenance and support of
highly complex software; defines procedures for monitoring and
evaluates, diagnoses, and establishes work plans to resolve system
issues and complex problems. Oversees major system and platform
configuration, testing, and evaluations. Plans for and implements
software upgrades and software releases. Identifies the need and/or
requirements for system utilities with enterprise-wide impact.  Provides
support across multiple areas of expertise. Develops and maintains
disaster recovery plans; maintains system security. Researches and
recommends enhancements to the infrastructure, provides technical
expertise in the evaluation of new technologies, and prepares
cost/benefit analyses for buy vs. build recommendations.
