The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has openings for up to three
Technical Information Specialists in its Technical Services Division. If
you're interested in library systems and a desire to serve the medical
library community, health professionals, and patients, the National
Library of Medicine is the place for you. You'll use your skills of
information organization, analysis and library systems to maintain,
improve and support key services for the nation and the world.
These positions support the newly formed Systems Office in the Technical
Services Division of NLM's Library Operations. The Systems Office is
responsible for managing NLM's integrated library system, the online
public catalogs, the electronic resources management system, DOCLINE
Serials Holdings to support ILL, and other systems that support NLM's
indexing and PubMed citation creation activities. Systems Office staff
is involved in leading the development of the NLM Digital Repository to
aid in building NLM's collection in the digital environment. The Office
is also responsible for coordinating hardware and software support for
the Technical Services Division.
To be selected, you should have experience implementing and managing
library systems as well as experience with a wide range of library
system technologies. The salary range for these positions is $82,961.00
- $107,854.00
