Berkeley Public Library is recruiting for the position of Information
Technology Librarian.  For complete information, see the City of

The IT Librarian responsibilities are as follows:

 

1. Administer the Innovative Interfaces Library System

Including:  recommend and implement enhancements,

improvements and additions to the system;

train staff on new features available and on major

changes and additions to the system. Create reports

from the system for use in analyzing library collections,

services and use of library materials and online

resources.



2. Maintain the Web Online Public Access Catalog

(OPAC), including; recommend and implement new

features as they become available, maintain and develop

the design, solicit feedback from library users,

staff and the Web OPAC committee, recommend

changes to improve usability and functionality as

needed ; maintain and configure the Web Bridge

OpenURL service.



3. In conjunction with the Library's Staff Development

committee, identify core technology competencies

for staff;  coordinate technology training classes for

staff that address these competencies either through

the delivery of training sessions or identifying third

party trainings; identify, experiment with and introduce

new information technologies and electronic

resources that support the Library's mission of providing

excellent service to our community.

 

Additional responsibilities may include working on the

Library's Web site and Staff Intranet.
