We had CybraryN for 3 years and it was an absolute nightmare. Never
again.

Our new provider is ITeam at http://www.iteamaccess.com/ Iteam so far
has been very good. Clients and Server has been very stable. They have
a database that logs the patron information once they have logged on to
the terminal, so it really does counter SirsiDynix's Horrible ESIP
program. If ESIP is stalled it will still let them log on based on
their previous information. Only new users will be blocked till you
restart ESIP.

The best thing about the company is the small and has direct cell phone
numbers to the programmers and techs. They have already made changes to
the software to customize it for us.

What ITeam has over CybraryN
Iteam uses a Database to maintain the schedules and CybraryN uses flat
files. Iteam is alot quicker because of it.

Iteam:There is also a reporting module that will tell you exactly how
many hours were logged on each computer and give you a total with a few
clicks.

Iteam:Computers can be changed from while they are active. No messing
with setup files.

Iteam:You can log out patrons from the reference desk.

Iteam:You can extend time at the reference desk.

Iteam: You can send messages to the users and terminals.

Iteam: You can ban people without messing with Horizon. You can even
Block Internet access so a user can just us the terminal as a word
processor.

Iteam: When you look at a terminal the patron can see on the screen if
there is a reservation on it in the next few hours without logging in.

Not sure on pricing anymore but to get started Iteam was less than the
yearly maintenance of CybraryN.

Hope this helped someone.

Jason

Our library system, which consists of 3 branches w/28+ public access
machines for Internet and Word Processing, uses CybraryN
(http://www.cbdusa.com/Products/Public_Computer_Management.htm) for our
PC management. Overall, we've been pretty happy with the software. It's
inexpensive and easy enough for a non-IT person (like me) to load and
configure. Their tech support and sales group is very responsive.
