During December we recall numerous world events: Napoleon's 1804 coronation; the Wright Brothers' first powered flight; the first performance of "Peter Pan" (in 1904) and the attack on Pearl Harbor. Learn the details of those, and other events, in this summary of December Highlights.

Explore a story about the real St Nicholas, born in Patara (today's Turkey) in the third century. Also learn about Hanukkah (the Jewish Festival of Lights), Eid-ul-Adha (the Muslim Feast of Sacrifice celebrated in late December this year) and Kwanzaa (commemorating African heritage).
