[Web4lib] Calendar App

To me there are at least 3 kinds of calendars:

-- Public events

-- Personal

-- Resource scheduling

At Michigan State we've adopted and adapted Virginia Tech's public events
calendar, VTcal,so for with great success. It allows you to have both a
general calendar and many sub-calendars. It's open source PHP / MySQL. MSU
has made many local mods but not yet packaged them for SourceForge.

I don't know how well it would serve in the role of a resource scheduling
calendar but it might be worth a try depending on your needs.

Suggestion: define up front what your calendar will and will not do. Say
the word "calendar" and people expect many different things of it.
