Not as good as a mailing list, list archive and possibly wiki attached
to 
it for many people.  Why?  Because email is part of their day-to-day 
information handling regime and yet-another-wiki/blog-to-look-at isn't. 
If I've got a choice between a mailing list and wiki/blog, the mailing
list wins every time.
