I use NewzCrawler (www.newzcrawler.com), which I like, because it supports a
number of popular blog system APIs, except the one I happen to use,
WordPress (NewzCrawler partially supports blogging to WordPress)! But it has
some other nice features too. Here's the features blurb from the Web site:

    * Read news from various sources: ATOM, RSS, RDF, Usenet Newsgroups
(NNTP), Web (HTTP);
    * Compose messages with full-featured WYSIWYG editor and post them to
your weblog on any Blogger, Metaweblog, MovableType or LiveJournal API
supporting website;
    * Browse actual news articles in the web using built-in browser;
    * Keep informed about the most recent news in elegant manner with News
Ticker and News Balloon;
    * Synchronize news content using permanent or dial-up connection;
    * Email interesting news and web pages to your friends;
    * Search for news by keywords;
    * Organize news channels in a fully customizable tree structure;
    * Use MS Agent characters for speech synthesis.

The price is reasonable too, $24.95 US. You can download NewzCrawler and use
it for 14 days.

Subject: [Web4lib] Looking for RSS Reader

I am forwarding this from a colleague who got the question below from one of
her staff:

"I am looking for a RSS Reader that sets on the local machine as opposed to
a web plugin. The local software gives the PC users more options.
There are a few out there but I don't know what the experience of any of
them have been. There is also one for Outlook 2003 which sounds good but
haven't decided if it would tax our exchange server too much yet. If you
know of anyone who is actually using RSS reader software, I would be
interested to know what they think of it."

I shall forward any responses to her. Many thanks in advance!
