[Web4lib] RE: Google Allows Downloads of out-of-copyright Books

Note that the Google watermark on each page reads: "Hosted by Google."  
For some reason it really bothers me that they would watermark a digital 
book that they didn't even scan themselves. I feel like there's an 
element of taking possession going on, which is particularly 
inappropriate since these are public domain books. If it weren't for the 
metadata page with the statement about having been scanned by (etc.) for 
U Mich you wouldn't know it's a Michigan book at all. If there's a 
watermark, it seems that it should be giving credit to Michigan for the 
cost and effort of scanning, not to Google for hosting the file.

Oh, maybe I'm just pre-annoyed at this point.
