A "p.s." on Google Calendar is that it can be publicly viewable if you want
it to (duh, I should have looked harder the first time-that's almost a
no-brainer) and has three access levels: admin/edit, edit, and view. 

I haven't found a feature like "invite me to your calendar," but as soon as
I say that, I have a feeling I will :-)
