[Web4lib] Waiting for the Wrong Train?

I couldn't agree more with Roy. While employed in a library fulltime, I had to use my library for my graduate studies for some years and I also have traveled the country assisting with research in various libraries. I have been painfully aware of the disconnect between perceptions of the librarian and the reality of the user. Every librarian should have to be a user.

Another point about Lisa's story is that we should all use our own
libraries as our users would (not as librarians who are often
afforded special dispensation). Often when I do this I am not pleased
about one thing or another, and it's those things upon which we need
to focus our attention.
