Proxy Server and Windows Media Player

Do you have experience letting remote users access multimedia through a proxy server?  Our new proxy server works fine for browser-based access, but Windows Media Player isn't picking up the proxy settings when launched.  I would appreciate hearing from anyone who can advise about how to fix this.  Thanks in advance.
