Subject: [WEB4LIB]

We cancelled about one third of our print periodical subscriptions this
past spring, leaving us with only around 175 current subscriptions.

This summer I'll be creating a periodicals browsing web page. My aims
are to:

1. List our subscription periodicals by subject (about 25 different
areas) and include descriptions of them, their locations in the library,
and length of holdings.

2. Showcase selected titles of which we have deep holdings (50 year
runs or more) -- quite a few.

3. For each title, link to the current issue in Ebsco or one of our
other subscription databases -- so that users can browse the full text
contents online (or at least see abstracts of the articles).

4. Include the most important journals in the various disciplines where
we don't have print subscriptions but the full text articles are
available through our databases.

5. Make pathfinders explaining how to browse online, set up alerts on
titles, etc.

Would any small academic libraries that have already done something
similar be willing to send me links to their pages? =20
