Collection maintenance on the Web

Wearing my "job" hat... 

Those of you with large collections of Web links/records, I'd like to
commune with you on-list or off about weeding practices and particularly how
your CMS design does or does not facilitate collection maintenance.  As we
plan to upgrade to a new CMS, we have some opportunities to do some things
better/smarter, and weeding is an area of great concern and attention for
us.
