Dreamweaver, etc.

Elizabeth Reiten's plea for assistance with Dreamweaver has reminded me of a
question.

Evidently Arachnophila has gotten caught in its own web and disappeared. Can
anyone out there recommend a freeware or even a good commercial web page
editor? I'm running Dreamweaver 3, and it leaves a lot to be desired. The
tutorial has been magically unhelpful (instead of having the user construct a
web page, it takes one through the editing process). And yes, Elizabeth, I
don't understand layers either.
