Senior Information Scientist II, Virtual Library and Web
Development

Bristol Myers Squibb has an immediate opening for an Information
Scientist in the Knowledge Integration Resources (KIR)/Content
Integration and Access Group. The position will be located in
Lawrenceville, NJ.

We are looking for a creative and motivated individual to help
design and manage virtual library collections, web-based
services, and next-generation library systems.  This position is
a key source of library technical and web expertise in a
collaborative, diverse and team-oriented environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for overall management of the Cybrary website.
Cybrary is the BMS virtual library.
- Serve as key leader of Cybrary Redesign Project
- Provide leadership and technical expertise in the integration
of web-based resources.
- Application owner and database administrator for online library
system (Horizon). Central role in maintaining, updating and
managing this key application. Work closely   with BMS IT and
Epixtech support staff to maintain, upgrade and manage the
system.
- Responsible for E-Journal maintenance and enhancements which
are integrated with the online library system
- Perform CD updates for key external products including:
Micromedex, Drug Facts & Comparisons, and USP/NF
- Provide project management and oversight of technical projects
- Responsible for database maintenance including BMS Web
Directory, Cybrary, etc.
- Participant and leader in usability program.  Write scripts,
conduct interviews and observations and implement client
feedback.
- Key contributor to the KIR Hotline Service. Serves as LVL “Tech
Buddy” and participates in operations of the service on biweekly
basis.
- Web maintenance and enhancements to KIR intranet sites, portal
gadgets

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 3-5 years experience with library automation systems,
specifically Epixtech’s Horizon system;
- Computer skills including SQL, Access, Unix, Horizon or other
automated library system, Cold Fusion, experience with markup
languages including XML;
- Demonstrable experience in web design, implementation,
maintenance and content management;
- Familiarity with UNIX system administration, library automation
software applications, and database design and development;
- Project planning and management experience;
- Knowledge of SQL, relational databases and report writing;
- Team skills including collaboration, flexibility and
cooperation.
- Ability to see the big picture and anticipate future needs in
the area of e-content
- Strong customer focus
- Dedication to meeting needs/business demands related to virtual
library services in tight time frames.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Superb attention to detail
