I'd love to see this guy at a reference desk. He probably couldn't handle
it! My opinion and I'm not even a librarian, I just keep their computers
running. :-)

Subject: [WEB4LIB] What a UCLA Student Thinks of Librarians

Hello from D.C.

Librarians
Source: UCLA Daily Bruin
Title:
Library Science Degree: File that Under 'Stupid'
http://www.dailybruin.ucla.edu/db/articles.asp?ID=18860

After reading this article you'll be uttering the words, "is this a joke".
Unfortunately, I don't think it is. The writer of this column, a fourth
year molecular, cell and developmental biology student, has a problem with
library science/librarians and that's putting it mildly. Instead of
excerpting a couple of sentences, click on the url and read the entire
Viewpoint column. Wait, I can't resist, here are two sentences, "First of
all, does this [Library Science] really need to be a graduate program? As
far as I can remember, every librarian with whom I have ever come in
contact has been a socially inept housewife who needs a little extra income
to help out around the homestead."

cheers,
gary, the librarian
