Mills College went wireless in Fall 2001. Apple has an article about
this since we began the process using Apple Airports. (see
http://www.apple.com/education/hed/macsinaction/mills/index.html for
full story). We have since started looking at other options due to the
short life of some of the airports.

Students, staff and faculty who want to be on the wireless network buy
their own wireless card. Once things have been configure on their
machine they can walk just about anywhere on campus and not loose the
connection. We also have some laptops that are part of a mobile lab
that can be used by faculty for classroom instruction.
