Registration deadline for Library Research Seminar II extended to
October 19 !

Learn more about new research methodologies, qualitative and
quantitative studies, technology-based research, and policy analysis.

You still have time to make your plans to attend the second national
conference on research issues in library and information studies to be
held at the University of Maryland’s College Park campus on November 2
and 3, 2001.

This conference, Partners and Connections: Research Applied to Practice,

will focus on the multi-disciplinary nature of the rapidly changing
library science and information studies field and will feature keynote
speakers:

· Dr. Yvonna Lincoln, Professor of Educational Administration,
    Texas A & M University

· Dr. Phyllis Dain, formerly Professor with the School of Library
Service at Columbia University and Dr. Kathleen Molz, Professor of
Public Affairs, Columbia University

· Dr. Ben Schneiderman, Professor of Computer Science, University of
Maryland

The conference is designed to provide a unique environment in which to
learn about exemplary LIS research, discuss the research process, and
investigate emerging research methodologies in LIS. In addition to
sessions focused on a broad spectrum of research approaches, both
theoretical and applied, you will be able to participate in advisory
clinics
discussing grant seeking, interdisciplinary research design, and the
publishing process. The conference will also give you opportunities
to meet informally with other researchers and practicing professionals
in the field and to exchange ideas.

For more information and details about the schedule, registration, and
hotel accommodations, please see the conference website at:
 http://www.dpo.uab.edu/~folive/LRSII/index.htm

Don’t miss this chance to be involved in an international dialogue about

the research needs of a changing profession!
