I am very fond of Google as a web-wide search engine, but it's got
some limits as a remote search service. Last time I reviewed it,
last year, this is what I found:

No way to schedule updates or view index log. No access to search
log. Minimal results customization interface (to be done by the
company). No automatic interface for search zones on a site. No way
to customize no-matches page.

It's a great search engine but there's something to be said for more
local control.

Avi
