New Exhibit at Newman: The Beecher Family

I'm pleased to announce the availability online of Newman Library's most
recent exhibit called, "An American Family : The Beecher Tradition".  The
exhibit is curated by Professor Sandra Roff and is available at:

The Beecher family has been influential in American life and culture. Their
deep religious convictions and social conscience spanned the nineteenth
century and made them prominent historical figures whose impact on religion,
education, abolition, reform movements, literature and public life were
exceptional.  The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center in Hartford, Connecticut was
the source of much of the visual material in this exhibit. They have
generously loaned us a selection of ephemeral items which are on exhibit in
the Engelman Reading Room.

The William and Anita Newman Library at Baruch College, CUNY, has a number
of exhibits and digital collections available through the Digital
