(Excerpt from February, 2001 Information Advisor)

THE BEST OF THE BREAKING BUSINESS NEWS AGGREGATORS

Today you can turn to one of several news aggregators for a fast-and
free-search of the latest headlines. For our review, we visited eight sites
and examined coverage and features. In making our evaluations, we looked for
a high number of quality sources, particularly, in-depth business news
sources; search engine capabilities; archive; and effective design and
navigation.

We also tested each site by running the same three specific searches-for a
story that had just broken hours earlier that day on American Airlines' plan
to acquire TWA, for articles on genetically modified foods, and for news
stories that discussed the search engine Google.

Of the group, we found that Moreover.com, while not perfect, was our clear
winner, earning 4 out of five stars. Bottom line-we found it easy to use,
offering a wide selection of high-quality sources, operated fast, and
returned the most relevant results.

Also doing well in the test were NorthernLight (www.northernlight.com) and
1stHeadlines (www.1stheadlines.com). Other aggregators tested and/or
mentioned in this article included: NewsNow, NewsIndex, NewsTrawler, and
NewsHub.
