Thanks for the replies.
The Front Page function is basically the same thing as using the SSI date edited stamp.  But that function does reside in only the footer file, which is why the dates are only showing for the include file its self not the page it shows up on.
I was looking to see if there was a way to create a variable on every page (using SSI) and then in the include file, echo the variable.  Since the variable would be created on each page, it would always reflect the date of the page and not the date of the include.  
I know I can do this with ASP, but I was looking for the easier way.
