Internet Explorer 5.5

Hi -- we are a small public library.  We recently upgraded to IE 5.5 and 
are now having trouble on some of our workstations with Hotmail (we also 
have Fortres installed).  We also have been experiencing some "lapses" in 
our LAN settings.  Is any of this related to the recent upgraded?  Any 
help will be appreciated.  We are new at this so please be extremely basic.
